Back & Forth

Artlab Gallery, University of Western Ontario, 2006

Project and exhibition with painting and drawing students at University of Western Ontario that required an expansion of how to think about space and two/three dimensionality. In groups students move back and forth between the disciplines of sculpture, drawing, digital photography and painting, using second-hand construction materials to create 'islands of planes' within the gallery space.

Through the act of collaboration, students engaged in a 'complete' exhibition, from concept, facilitation, creation, construction, hosting the exhibition and then deconstructing it, returning all the materials (now art) to recycling - all within one week.
